This is my husband's Nana's recipe that she had made for years. It tastes absolutely wonderful and hits home for all of us. This is a great recipe for football Saturdays or if you have a large gathering!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 lb. of Italian sausage
  • 1 green, red, and yellow pepper (3 total)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can of sweet corn
  • 1 can of Rotel
  • 1 can of petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 can of ranch-style beans
  • Velveeta cheese
  • Mixed shredded cheese
  • Tortilla chips (or Fritos)
  • Chili powder seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions:

  • Chop up the onions and peppers into small pieces.
  • Dump cans of ranch-style beans, Rotel, and sweet corn, 1/2 of the onion, and diced tomatoes into a crockpot. Mix and set on high.
  • Cook the ground beef and Italian sausage on the stove top with the remaining chopped onion. Sprinkle the chili powder, salt, and pepper on top.
  • Drain the grease of the cooked meat and mix in the crockpot with the other ingredients.
  • Slice up the Velveeta cheese and put in crockpot. Slowly mix in and add the shredded cheese in with it.
  • Add more chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Let it cook for approximately 3 hours on high or 7 hours on low.
  • Serve with tortilla chips or Fritos.
