Tucker’s Famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
Tucker’s Famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
Tammy Tucker: Blairsville, GA
My parents, Jack and Pat Tucker, owned and operated Tucker's Family Restaurant in Blairsville, GA, for over 20 years. This pie was a staple at the restaurant and my son (who also is a bank employee) would have his grandma make it with just the peanut butter filling and no chocolate pudding on top. Back in the 1980s until approximately 1996, many Union County Bank (aka United Community) held many Christmas parties and board meetings at Tucker's Restaurant, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was always served. The picture I’ve submitted is the recipe in my late mom’s own handwriting.Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Jif creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla or 1 teaspoon of imitation vanilla
- 8 ounce carton of cool whip
- Two 9 inch Keebler graham cracker pie crusts
- 1 large box of Jello instant chocolate pudding and pie filling
- 2 1/2 cup milk
Instructions:
- With an electric mixer, whip the cream cheese, then add the peanut butter and blend well.
- Add vanilla and powdered sugar and mix well, then fold in cool whip.
- Spread the filling into the two pie crusts evenly.
- Mix the pudding with the milk until well blended, then spread over the peanut butter mixture.
- Place in refrigerator to chill and serve.
